So don’t be surprised if a small download is required at release. It is still possible that an update will be released at the time of release to fix some minor errors. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be released on May 25th, 2023, but you can already download the game starting from May 23rd to be able to play it directly at release without downloading. They kept Gollum’s physique very similar to the one in the movies but made changes to his face to make it their own creation. In the making-of video, the developers also discuss the appearance of Gollum, which differs from the Gollum in the movies. In the video, the developers talk about how they created Gollum in their game and how they integrated his various and complex traits into the game.
On May 18th, the publishers Nacon released a 4-minute making-of video for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum on their YouTube channel, which you can also watch above if you’re interested.
